Belgorod – The Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine is under fire. Since Friday (May 10th), Russian troops have continued to advance in the region as a result of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the situation in the Russian border region of Belgorod is tense. Russian bombs are repeatedly accidentally dropped on Belgorod. There were further explosions only at the weekend. According to one report, nearly 40 such accidental kills have been recorded in recent months.
Russia Drops Bombs on Belgorod – Nearly 40 Incidents
On Sunday (May 12th), two Russian FAB-500 aerial bombs are said to have fallen on Razumnoye, a suburb of Belgorod, Russia Baza reported on Telegram. However, the bomb did not explode and was scheduled to be destroyed on Monday. According to local residents, a second bomb exploded just a few meters from the other bomb eight hours later.
This is not an isolated case. The blame is often placed on Kiev and reports of a Ukrainian attack occurred on the same day. Because just a few kilometers away, a residential building collapsed on Sunday in the city of Belgorod. Russia accused Ukraine of firing missiles at Belgorod. As Russia defended itself against Ukrainian missiles, a piece of debris is said to have hit the house and caused it to collapse.

However, an Osint analyst sees signs that this incident could be just another in a series of accidental launches into Russia’s own territory. “The damage and direction are consistent with that of a failed Russian glide bomb,” Oliver Alexander wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on May 12. According to the analyst, the explosion is said to have occurred on the north side of the building and therefore on the “Russian side”. Both versions cannot be verified independently.

“This is not an isolated incident,” the British Ministry of Defense commented on May 11 in its daily Ukraine update on X (formerly Twitter). “These incidents demonstrate that Russia continues to be unable to successfully deploy its munitions on intended targets,” it said.
