The Canarian striker answers negatively to the proposal offered by the Albinegro club and will soon sign for Malaga
The Canarian striker Rubén Castro, all-time top scorer for FC Cartagena in the Second Division, has definitively rejected the renewal proposal put on the table by the Cartagena team and will not continue with the black and white entity next season. In a statement, the club announced that the striker “has rejected the renewal offer that the club sent him at the end of last season 21/22.”
Likewise, he thanked the services provided to the footballer, essential in saving him in his first campaign and tremendously important for the good season at home in the second. “We want to thank Rubén Castro for his excellent personal behavior and for his great sporting performance during the two seasons he has defended the Albinegra shirt in LaLiga Smartbank, wishing him good luck in his next personal and professional goals”, they indicated from the entity.
The Canarian will sign for Málaga de Guede in the coming days. The ways in which the ‘killer’ has taken direction to the whole of the City of Sun have disappointed the sports commission of Cartagena, who took for granted his continuity in the discipline directed by the Catalan coach Luis Carrión.
In fact, the striker promised the Albinegro president, Paco Belmonte, his continuity before leaving on vacation. However, the desire to be close to Seville, a city where a house is being built, and the interesting financial offer from Guede’s team has made him radically change his mind. Manuel Sánchez Breis, sports director of the Cartagena entity, wrote on his Twitter account: “In life, sometimes you win… and sometimes you learn.”
