Buckingham Palace informs that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer, says British broadcasting company BBC.
The public has not been told what type of cancer it is.
The cancer was discovered when the king received treatment for his enlarged prostate. However, it is not prostate cancer, Hovi informs.
Regular treatment has been started.

According to Buckingham Palace, the king “expects to return to full public work as soon as possible.”
The king told his sons personally about his diagnosis. Prince Harrywho lives in the US, plans to travel to Britain in the coming days.
Prime minister Rishi Sunak wished the king a “full and speedy recovery” on Monday evening.
If the head of state is unable to carry out his official duties, in Britain “state advisers” can be appointed to replace the monarch.
Currently, state advisers would mean the Queen Camillaa prince Williamprincess Anne and the prince Edward.
Prince William had recently temporarily stepped back from public duties as he helped his wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, as she recovers from stomach surgery. However, earlier on Monday it was announced that William would return to public duties later this week.
