The rowing team is preparing to take on the new Asian challenge, by competing in the “Yellow Continent” qualifiers for the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will be hosted by the French capital, Paris, from July 26 to August 11 next.
The modern rowing team will be represented at the upcoming Asian Forum, which begins next Thursday and will continue for 4 days, in Inchon, South Korea, by our hero Hamad Saeed Al Matrooshi, player of Al Hamriya Club, who competes in the men’s singles.
The delegation of the Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation will leave on Sunday, heading to Seoul, and from there to Inchon. It includes Hamad Al Matroushi and Al Mahdi Qaridi, the technical director of the rowing team.
Upon his arrival at the residence in Incheon, which is hosting the continental qualifiers, Al Matrooshi is expected to complete his training program, in preparation for the start of the Asian mission, and to compete in the men’s singles competitions.
Mohammed Abdullah Al-Obaidli, Secretary-General of the Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, was keen to ensure the preparations for participation, and to provide the team with opportunities for success, in order to continue the achievements, praising the support of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Federation, and the follow-up of the General Sports Authority and the National Olympic Committee, Al Hamriyah Club, and the ongoing work of the technical staff supervising the national team.
For his part, Al-Mahdi Qaridi said that the Asian qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics are an important opportunity for our champions, noting that Al-Matroushi is considered one of the best stars in West Asia in the individual field, and has the chances of qualifying for the great Olympic forum.
Hamad Saeed Al Matroushi, the star of our modern rowing team, competed within the delegation in the 2000-meter “Classic” individual rowing competition that took place this year, as part of the activities of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
