The introduction of QR codes in transport and shops will help protect Russians at risk from coronavirus. This was announced on Friday, November 12 REN TV Deputy Director of the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Rospotrebnadzor Tatyana Ruzhentsova.
“The introduction of QR codes in those places where the risk of infection is greatest is aimed precisely at preserving the health and lives of our population, those who do not yet have immunity,” she said.
According to the expert, most often the coronavirus is transmitted by airborne droplets in crowded places. At the same time, it poses a particular threat to people with weak immunity and those who have not been vaccinated.
Ruzhentsova also stressed that the bill on mandatory QR codes in transport and shops is aimed at limiting contacts, first of all, of those who do not yet have immunity. She noted the need to control the spread of coronavirus infection, and said that this is possible only by interrupting the transmission of the virus.
Earlier on Friday, the Russian government sent to the State Duma bills on the use of QR codes in public places and on some types of transport. The bill “On Amendments to the Federal Law” On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being of the Population “assumes that citizens will be able to visit places of mass events, cultural institutions, catering and retail facilities if they have a QR code on vaccination, a document on medical treatment or a transferred COVID -19.
The draft law “On Amendments to Article 107 of the Air Code of the Russian Federation and the Federal Law“ Charter of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation ”regulates the procedure for using QR codes on railway and air transport.
Dmitry Khubezov, Chairman of the State Duma Health Protection Committee, commenting on the bill, noted that it is aimed primarily at preserving the life and health of citizens. According to Khubezov, this measure will save the life and health of the “anti-axers”, since the chain of infections will be interrupted.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that the authorities plan to introduce mandatory QR codes for visiting cafes, shops and transport from February 1, so that Russians have time to receive the necessary documents on immunity. She noted that the coronavirus vaccination certificate is comparable in importance to the passport of citizens.
Against the background of a worsening epidemiological situation, the Russian authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated in order to protect their health and take care of their loved ones. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
