Hamilton, a qualifying to forget
If in the Sprint Lewis Hamilton had shown a newfound verve that had brought him back to the front of a race and to second place at the finish line, the seven-time world champion was unable to repeat himself over the course of the qualifications.
After just a few hours away, the Mercedes number 44 could not do better than the 18th positionbeing sensationally eliminated at the end of Q1.
Hamilton then explained that he had risky on the set-upfollowing a different path than George Russell and having paid for it in terms of lap times.
Rosberg doesn't believe in Hamilton
Certainly Nico Rosberg he got to know Lewis Hamilton thoroughly, with whom he shared the Mercedes garage from 2013 to 2016, not without stormy clashes, verbally and on the track.
And Rosberg himself analyzed the Q1 of his former teammate: “It was a difficult day for him, he made a mistake that a seven-time world champion shouldn't make. She was having a super ride, but she had to know that the wind was behind her and that it had changed from yesterday. AND braking so late that the lap is wasted, in the decisive round, it obviously penalized him“, he pointed out to Sky.
The 2016 world champion then continued, entering with a straight leg on his rival: “The set-up different from Russell? For me this is a bit of his excuse this year: 'We have a different set-up and that's the problem.' While George instead says: 'Different setup from Lewis? Last time I looked it was identical'“, underlined Rosberg with sarcasm.
