Roman Polanskiwho fled the United States decades ago after admitting to raping a 13-year-old girl, already He will not face trial for an alleged assault on another minor in the 70s after reaching a agreement.
It was the Franco-Polish director’s lawyer who announced the news after reaching an agreement “to the mutual satisfaction of the parties.”
In March of this year, a Santa Monica judge set a trial date for August 2025 this rape lawsuit against the director. The plaintiff alleged that the filmmaker raped her in 1973, when she was a minor, at his home in Benedict Canyon.
According to the lawsuit, the young woman I had met Polanski at a party months before. Polanski took her to dinner at Le Restaurant on La Brea Avenue, gave her shots of tequila, and then took her home, where she passed out in his bed.
“The plaintiff remembers waking up in the defendant’s bed with him lying in bed next to her. He told her that he wanted to have sex with her, to which she replied no.. ‘Please don’t do this,'” the lawsuit stated.
Polanski ignored her pleas and proceeded to rape her and then he took her home. That was the last time she saw the director, as the plaintiff explained. She filed the lawsuit, using the name Jane Doe, in June 2023 under a California law that extends the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse. Polanski received the lawsuit at his home in Paris.
