Jhonatan Chaves (NU) won this Sunday the second stage of the RCN Classic, while his teammate Rodrigo Contrerasassumed the leadership dethroning Oscar Seville.
According to the criteria of
“Chaves took advantage of his strength in the last stretch of the 133.8-kilometer climb between Chinácota and Berlin to overcome Brandon Rojas and Diego Pescador, both from GW Shimano, who lost 20 and 38 seconds respectively,” reported the EFE agency.
Good victory
And he added: “The individual general classification underwent changes and now the leader is Contreras, one of the top favourites for the title, who has an advantage of 11 seconds over Christian Muñoz and Camilo Ardilahis teammates.”
EFE noted that “Diego Pescador is in fourth place, losing 16 seconds to the leader. Colombian-Spanish Óscar Sevilla, who started the day as leader, fell to 17th place.”
“He now has a disadvantage of 56 seconds with Contreras, the closest rider this year in the Colombian calendar. Contreras was in European cycling for several years and was part of Astana and also defended the jersey of the Quick-Step, from Belgium“, EFE reported.
The third day will take place this Monday, with a distance of 207.5 kilometres between Lebrija and Puerto Berrío.
