“Road To Race Academy” arrives, an innovative television format dedicated to motorsport enthusiasts who wish to test their skills and compete for a unique opportunity in the world of motor racing. The final winner will have the honor of participating in a Formula 3 race, which will take place on the iconic Monza circuit on 4/6 October 2024.
The format was born from the will of Rosario Campagna, owner of Puresport, a famous leading company in Europe in the driving experience. The production of the format will be entrusted to the Star-M production company, with Giovanni Mencarelli and Salvatore Barbato as authors and executive producers, with the collaboration of Roberto Pisani. “Road to Race Academy” will be broadcast exclusively on MotorTrend, the thematic channel dedicated to the world of motoring published by the Warner Bros. Discovery Group.
Presenting the talent will be Mitch, co-host of the popular radio program “Tutto Esaurito” on Radio 105, former author and correspondent of “Le Iene” and currently producer and presenter of “Scemi da Matrimonio”, broadcast on TV8 and NowTV.
As many as 1000 candidates will face a series of rigorous selections, divided into different phases. The competition will begin with kart races and simulators, then move on to tests with drifting and GT racing cars. Only the best 10 candidates will be able to pass all the tests and will access the prestigious “Road To Race Academy”.
This phase is particularly interesting, as it will allow participants who are passionate about simulation to demonstrate whether training with driving simulators can really make a difference in performance on the track. Candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in highly realistic virtual environments before moving on to tests on real vehicles.
The academy is not just a school, but a real center of excellence in motorsport, supported by illustrious names in the sector who will act as coaches and mentors of the participants and who will include Rosario Campagna, founder of Puresport, a Formula 3 racing team and leader in the Driving Experience sector in Europe, as well as Jarno Trulli, a true Italian legend of Formula 1, winner of the Monaco GP in 2004 and protagonist of Formula E. Piero Longhi, a motor racing champion with over 35 years of age, will complete the panel of experience in the world of racing, 3 Italian Rally championships, and an incalculable number of podiums and victories.
