The Court of First Instance of San Juan filed yesterday the case against Ricky Martinafter the plaintiff, his nephew Dennis Yadiel Sánchez, asked to revoke the protection order issued against the singer.
The artist’s representative in Puerto Rico, Helga Garciafrom the firm Perfect Partners, confirmed the court’s decision to Efe.
As recalled, against the singer weighed a protection order based on law 54, which protects victims of domestic violence, which had been granted ex parte on July 2 after the demand of his nephew.

In a statement, the artist’s legal team explained that the case was filed “at the request of the plaintiff, who, accompanied by his lawyer, Jessica Bernal, expressed his intention to annul the order that he himself requested.”
Dennis Yadiel Sánchez, 21, alleged at the time that he had a romantic relationship with the famous singer for seven months and that, after the breakup, his uncle intimidated him and approached his home on several occasions.
“Ricky Martin and his legal team insisted that there was no veracity in the allegations made against him, trust that was confirmed by the result of today’s hearing”, added the note.

After the protection order was issued, the interpreter assured that his nephew’s allegations were “totally false” and that he would face the judicial process “with the responsibility” that characterizes him.
The singer participated in yesterday’s hearing virtually and was represented by lawyers Joaquín Monserrate Matienzo, Carmelo Dávila and Harry Mansanet.
Last week, information emerged in some media that pointed to a possible sentence of up to 50 years in prison against the singer if he was found guilty of incest.

In this regard, his legal team reiterated yesterday in the statement that “There were a lot of sensational headlines on this issue that just didn’t correspond to the facts at all.”
“This was always a purely civil matter and, as the Court has just concluded, it was nothing more than unfortunate claims by a citizen. We are happy that our client saw that he got justice and now he can continue with his life and career, ”the lawyers stressed.

After the decision of the Puerto Rico court, the artist reappeared in a video to give his version of the events. “I have been working on stage for almost four decades and I have never had to deal with something as painful as what I experienced a few weeks ago”, you hear him say.
“I have been a victim of lies. Unfortunately, the attack came from a family member who is sadly dealing with mental issues. The only thing I wish her is the best and that she finds the light”, she expressed to finally thank her“ unconditional fans who always gave me messages of love. I insist, there is a God who rewards those who focus and live in the truth, ”she concluded.
