He National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) disqualified the advertising of the television series The House of the Dragon, by Max Latin Americain the Chapultepec Castle, and warned that the content disseminated is a mounting made with image editing software or artificial intelligence.
The INAH not only disqualified the action, but threatened to take legal action against Max Latin Americastreaming platform where the fiction series is transmitted.
The images show the emblematic Chapulgepec Castle intervened with flags and banners alluding to the protagonist of the series to promote the premiere of its second season.
The INAH, headed by anthropologist Diego Prieto, reacted quickly, specifying that it was a montage made with image editing software or Artificial Intelligence.
“It is reported that the images are false, since at no time have flags, banners or any other advertising material related to said production been placed on this property,” the agency said in a statement.
This clarification came as a result of the publication of MAX Latin America in X, where they stated that “Chapultepec Castle, in Mexico, was claimed by its queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and the black council. It is time to choose your side.”
“For this reason, the National Coordination of Legal Affairs of the INAH will carry out the appropriate legal measures, because this is an improper use of images of a historical monument,” the Institute pointed out.
The use of images of historical monuments for commercial purposes requires an endorsement from INAH, and in this case, no authorization has been granted for the reproduction of images of Chapultepec Castle for the promotion of the series La Casa del Dragón.
