Repsol and Warner Music have signed a pioneering agreement in the music industry in Spain. This alliance establishes a general collaboration framework to advance the record company’s decarbonization objectives.
According to this agreement, Warner Music Spain is positioned as the first record company that will use the multi-energy offer offered by Repsol to reduce CO2 emissions in a large part of its industrial activity (recording, production, distribution and promotion of songs and artists, as well as such as the training of the next record executives).
Warner Music Group is committed to supplying 100% renewable energy to all its offices in the world by 2030, with Spain being the first territory to achieve this.
In addition, the label’s artist Dani Fernández will use renewable fuel on his tour of Spain. For this reason, Repsol will supply 100% renewable electricity to Warner’s artistic hub “The Music Station” and the Gran Teatro Caixabank Príncipe Pío. This space, open 24 hours a day, aimed at artists, authors, producers, managers and the creative sector in general, is located in the old Príncipe Pío North Station and places Madrid at the center of musical innovation.
For Repsol’s Director of Communication and Brand, Marcos Fraga: “This agreement with Warner Music Spain, one of the largest record companies in the world, reaffirms Repsol’s commitment to leisure and, specifically, to music. At the same time highlights all the energy solutions that Repsol can offer the music industry to drive the reduction of its carbon footprint.”
For his part, the President of Warner Music Iberia, Guillermo González: “Our strategic alliance with Repsol represents a key step in Warner Music’s commitment to reduce emissions and minimize the environmental impact of our operations. Thanks to this agreement, we have achieved supply our artistic hub, The Music Station, with 100% renewable energy, while offering our artists the resources and partners necessary to significantly reduce CO2 emissions during their tours. This joint effort reinforces our vision of a more sustainable future for music.” .
