Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe, the agreement is done
As we reported days ago, the Red Bull purchased 51% of Bora Hansgrohe, cycling team in which Primoz Roglic plays. The acquisition had not become official as it lacked the approval of the national antitrust authority, although the green light was made official on Monday 29 January.
Denk's words
“With this decision we have overcome an important obstacle“, said the founder and team manager of the cycling team Ralph Denk. “The foundations of our partnership with Red Bull are now officially laid. This is the green light we have been waiting for to carry out the formalities and many specific parts of the collaboration“.
“Everyone in cycling knows how important basics and preparation are to success. We are now taking this step with the necessary consideration and determination. We will present further details of our partnership throughout the season“.
With the acquisition of Bora-Hansgrohe, Red Bull expands its “sports portfolio”, which naturally includes Formula 1 but also involves sailing, hockey and football, where the company founded by Dietrich Mateschitz is a sponsor or owner of several football clubs, such as Leipzig, Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.
