Rectification requested by the Radio and Television Corporation of Galicia (CRTVG)

In relation to the article titled ‘Galician TV in black: strike, managers tried for harassment and legislative changes to reinforce the manipulation of the PP‘, broadcast on October 8, 2024 in Publicthe Radio and Television Corporation of Galicia (CRTVG), under the protection of Organic Law 2/1984, of March 26, regulating the right of rectification, has stated to this newspaper that:

1. The management of the CRTVG has not announced the outsourcing of the production of the morning program “O Termómetro” nor has this program been entrusted to a private company.
“O Termómetro” is a co-production of the CRTVG with two companies in the Galician audiovisual sector, made at the San Marcos facilities, by staff from the TVG and the contracted production companies. This production does not represent any reduction in the Corporation’s staff, which by the end of 2024 will have all its permanent workers. The magazine “El Termómetro” follows exactly the same production scheme that currently exists on TVE and the rest of the regional channels.”

2. During the mandate of Mr. Sánchez Izquierdo, the CRTVG has never been warned or condemned by the Electoral Board for “manipulation in favor of the PP.” On the contrary, it was in the stage prior to this general direction when the Electoral Board condemned the CRTVG on up to 12 occasions for violating “informative neutrality.” Regarding the high rate of litigation during Mr. Sánchez Izquierdo’s mandate, in this period the Corporation had to face hundreds of legal proceedings derived from the previous management for illegal transfer of workers.
The current management has corrected this situation and regularized 100% of the staff. The complaints, not even the unfavorable sentences for violation of fundamental rights, represent less than 0.5% of the Corporation’s total litigation.”
