Morelia, Michoacán.- The national holidays in Morelia, Cradle of Independence, will have a mega security operation, in which the Morelia Police will participate, together with the Civil Guard and elements of the SEDENA, the municipal police will be there today ready to start the operation.
There will be two days of celebration in Morelia, this September 15 and 16, 100% of the elements of the Morelia Police will be working to guarantee the safety and tranquility of all those attending the first square of the city who come to enjoy the festivities for the Independence of Mexico.
Alejandro González Cussi, municipal commissioner of citizen security, explained that there will be 785 members of the Morelia Police who “will be active” during the events of September 15 and 16 in the historic center, that their main functions will be to reinforce surveillance in the Historic Center or without forgetting the surveillance in the neighborhoods of the municipality.
As part of the traditional “Cry of Independence”, closures to vehicular traffic will be implemented starting on the night of September 14 from Cuautla street to the beginning of the Aqueduct, as well as from the height of Emiliano Zapata streets to the north. and Ortega y Montañés on the south side. Due to the above, citizens are called upon to plan their transfers in advance.
It is noteworthy that for the traditional “Grito”, 4 pedestrian access points will be installed, 2 on Corregidora street behind the Cathedral and 2 more on Madero avenue, corner with Nigromante and corner with Pino Suárez, which will be in charge of the state Civil Guard and the passage of objects such as sharp objects, weapons, intoxicating drinks, glass bottles, lighters, fireworks and drones will be restricted.
Likewise, for the Civic Parade on September 16, the roadblocks will extend throughout the center from Pedro de Fuentes Street in the Tres Puentes area to Tata Vasco Avenue, the area of the monument to Lázaro Cárdenas and Avenida Nocupetaro.
In addition to the fact that from north to south, there will also be a restriction of passage from the height of Emiliano Zapata streets to Ortega and Montañés. Therefore, the call to citizens to take their forecasts in their transfers to attend this great event is endorsed.
