I bought pike-perch fillet. It cost over 30 euros a kilo. I would have gotten pork for less than four euros a kilo. I did not buy.
I would buy meat more often if I knew the animal had been happy. That it has lived as close to the typical life of its own species as possible. And that the meat would be organic and that the slaughter of the animal would have taken place without stress and cruel treatment. I would be happy to pay 20 euros a kilo or more for that kind of meat.
Am I the only person who thinks so? I do not believe. As a consumer, I hope that agriculture will develop in a more humane and animal-friendly direction.
