Razgatlioglu King of Misano
In the home round at Misano Adriatico the victory was lacking for Ducatiwho had to deal with a Toprak Razgatlioglu unstoppable for all his opponents. The Turkish driver, who thanks to these successes is also the new leader of the world rankings, climbed to the top step of the podium in Race-1, Superpole Race and Race-2, without forgetting the pole position obtained in qualifying.
Always 2nd
An exceptional state of form that denied the dream of victory in front of his fans Nicolò Bulega, who cannot however be dissatisfied with the weekend in Romagna. The #11 was the only one to have kept up with the pace of the BMW driver, finishing always in 2nd place in all scheduled races: “I’m very happy – he commented after Race 2 – race for the first time in Superbike in Misano e finishing second in all the races is undoubtedly a great result even if obviously winning would have been a dream. However, I have to congratulate Toprak because he was really fast. Now we’re going to Donington, a circuit that I really like.”
The great comeback in Race-2
Furthermore, the last act of the Emilia-Romagna Round highlighted the qualities of the reigning world champion Alvaro Bautista, who rose from eleventh position on the starting grid to finishing third. A podium that partially compensates for the mistake made in the Superpole Race, with a crash after a long run in turn 10 which excluded him from the points zone: “It was a good comeback during which I enjoyed myself – has explained – it is clear, however, that we are not yet in the best conditions. We worked a lot on the bike throughout the weekend looking for an ideal set up that we weren’t able to find. We need to reset now and analyze the data to arrive at Donington with more certainty.”
Bitterness, however, for the wild card Michele Pirro, who crashed on the last lap while he was fighting for a points finish. For Ducati there will now be a month’s break to work on the Panigale V4R before returning to the track in a month in England for the fifth round of the season at Donington.
