There are no Finns in the WRC class at Monte Carlo.
New the rally season starts in just over two weeks without the reigning world champion. Toyota's Kalle Rovanperä misses the opening race of the season in Monte Carlo. The issue was confirmed when the rally start lists was published.
Three Toyota cars drive France Sébastien Ogierof Britain Elfyn Evans and Japan Katsuta Takamoto.
Rovanperä already announced at the end of last season that he is not going to run a full series this season. He basically alternates with Ogier.
However, this does not rule out the possibility that Toyota could also run four cars in the rallies, in which case two-time world champion Rovanperä and eight-time champion Ogier would get to the same spots.
“It is possible that Kalle and Seb will drive in the same race, even if they share a season”, Toyota team manager Jari-Matti Latvala commented motorsports site For Dirtfish in November.
In November, Latvala could not say exactly how Rovanperä and Ogier will divide the races. Ogier applies from 25 to 28 January, the tenth victory of his career in Monte Carlo. Rovanpera, on the other hand, still lacks a victory in the Rally of Finland.
in Monte Carlo no Finns are seen in the WRC main class, but the blue and white representation is that of the driver in the WRC2 class Sami Pajarin and his cart Enni Mälkönen on the shoulders.
Pajari and Mälkönen drive for the Finnish Printsport team, as Toyota does not run its equipment as a team at the WRC2 level.
