Rai intervenes on the Amadeus case: “Misleading reconstructions”
After days of rumors and allegations, Rai takes a position on the Amadeus case with a harsh press release in which it denies some reconstructions deemed “misleading” and “harmful” for the company.
In fact, for several days now, there has been talk of Amadeus's possible farewell to Rai. News that is now taken for granted with the host that he would have decided to accept Discovery's offer.
On several occasions it was underlined that Amadeus' decision was not of an economic nature. The Corriere della Sera he even went further, publishing an article on what could be the reasons that would have pushed the presenter out of Viale Mazzini.
According to the newspaper, in fact, the host was no longer “willing to tolerate certain dynamics, certain pressures, certain stresses”.
Indeed, according to the CourierAmadeus would have been asked to participate in a “courtesy” lunch with Pino Insegno, to include Povia among the singers of the Festival, to include Hoara Borselli among the guests and to work alongside Mogol who would have been entrusted with the role of artistic director of the event.
Precisely these reconstructions provoked the reaction of Rai in a Press release. “Regarding the numerous reconstructions that have appeared in the media in recent days and relating to the possibility of the conclusion of the relationship between the Public Service and Amadeus, Rai reiterates that these are interpretations of the facts that are both false and harmful to the company” we read.
And again: “Reconstructions that appear all the more imaginative when they refer to alleged pressure that Rai would have exerted on Amadeus who instead – as he himself repeated several times during the last Sanremo Festival – has always enjoyed, in his choices , of maximum autonomy and freedom, which have been recognized and guaranteed to him by Rai itself, in the name of esteem and profound trust, which have absolutely never failed”.
