RAdamel Falcao García suffered an injury that could keep him out of Millonarios’ upcoming matches. The ‘Tiger’ did not come out for the second half in the game that Alberto Gamero’s team won 1-0 against Deportes Tolima.
According to the criteria of
Near the end of the first half, Falcao crashed to the ground near the middle of the pitch at the El Campín stadium after being pushed by defender Anderson Angulo. The action went unnoticed at the time.
However, the ‘Tiger’ did not come out to play in the second half and in his place, coach Gamero brought Leonardo Castro onto the field. Falcao, in a later shot of the Win+ Fútbol broadcast, was seen with a bandage on his right hand.
The news is not good for the Colombian national team’s top scorer. Gamero confirmed, in the press conference after the game, that Falcao suffered a fracture.
“Falcao has a fracture of the bone in his hand, they are trying to put him in a cast only and not have him operated on,” said the player from Santa Marta.
Andrés Llinás and Kevin Palacios also had problems
Two other players suffered medical problems during the match against Tolima. Defender Andrés Llinás, who scored the winning goal for the blue team, was also unable to come out onto the pitch for the second half. He suffered a cut above his right eyebrow after colliding head-to-head with his teammate Delvin Alfonzo.
“Llinás has an injury and when he arrived at the locker room he felt dizzy. That’s why he didn’t come out for the second half,” Gamero explained.
Winger Kevin Palacios also had a problem. “He has a luxor in his right shoulder, it’s a small problem that should be solved at any moment, but we know about that injury,” said the coach.
Millonarios still do not know the date and venue of the fifth round match against América, which cannot be played in Cali because the Pascual Guerrero stadium is being fitted with a hybrid turf for the U-20 Women’s World Cup. And the sixth round match has already been played, against Nacional: it lost 1-2 at El Campín.
