MCU fans are waiting for more details on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. Although we have had some advances, such as Okoye’s possible LGTB + romance, Marvel’s production has become news for a different and particular fact. According to Variety, the director of the film, Ryan Coogler, was mistakenly arrested after being mistaken for a burglar.

According to the aforementioned medium, the filmmaker went to one of the Bank of America establishments, in the state of Atlanta, dressed in a hat, sunglasses and a mask. Thus, he went to the counter to deliver a note to the cashier with some instructions, since he wanted the operation he was going to carry out not to attract attention.
On paper, the message would read: “I would like to withdraw $12,000 in cash from my checking account. Please count the money elsewhere. I’d like to do it discreetly.” But, she did not imagine what would come next.

What happened?
Variety mentions that the bank employee misinterpreted Coogler’s message and triggered an alert notification. Then, the young woman informed her boss of the situation and, immediately afterwards, they called the Police.
The officers arrived immediately and not only arrested the filmmaker, but also apprehended his two companions, who were waiting for him outside the bank with their car engine running.
With the tension in between, Coogler was handcuffed and put in the police vehicle. However, after checking his identification and his account, the agents noticed that they were in front of the director of “Black Panther” and released him.
A Bank of America spokesperson told Variety: “We are deeply sorry that this incident occurred. It should never have happened and we have apologized to Mr Coogler.”

Ryan Coogler has been shooting the sequel “Wakanda forever” recently. The film is about to hit theaters and a new Black Panther is expected to replace the late Chadwick Boseman, on some level. For now, the details of the plot are scarce and it is not clear how the absence of its protagonist would have changed the course of the narrative.
