Racing Bulls lookalike of Red Bull 2023?
When Racing Bulls presented the livery of its car with which it will debut (with this name) in the F1 World Championship, many noted the similarity between the render initial of the VCARB 01 and the RB19, starting – as anticipated by our Carlo Platella – from the pull-rod front suspension, as opposed to the push-rod that had characterized the latest AlphaTauri.
Bayer's words
To those who, like Zak Brown, stated that to compete in the same championship you cannot have the same ownership, Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer he responded like this: “Formula 1 is a battle of resources and today also of efficiency. I believe that the teams further back in the standings need some support, because adding the points of the last four does not add up to those of the sixth in the standings. This help is mainly through financial means, pieces of product supply to effectively remain competitive. The financial reality is a fact today, and it's not like all 10 teams are making money. We must be careful not to overreact to the paranoia of certain people“, this is his comment to RacingNews365.
“One of the first things you learn in Formula 1 is that the easiest way to become unpopular is to be successful. As long as you're last, people don't even notice you're there. As soon as you grow up, they throw everything they can at you. I come from the FIA and I know how high the scrutiny is on all teams, especially if they already have close ties“, he added. “We want to be fierce but fair competitors”.
Federal reassurances and Brown's skepticism
The F1 regulations strictly legislate on which parts the teams can share and which ones must be in the bag of each of the ten teams, and the FIA has repeatedly reassured that it will pay particular attention to the relationship between the former AlphaTauri and Red Bull : “We believe that AlphaTauri has completely different aerodynamic solutions to those of Red Bull“, said FIA single-seater director Nicholas Tombazis.
Despite federal reassurances, however, the fact that the two teams have the same ownership has never reassured their rivals. Even less, if you think about the recent statements by Bayer and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, who have repeatedly spoken of a stronger bond between the two souls racing of the universe created by Dietrich Mateschitz.
