Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc: two sides of the same coin – that one Ferrari – during the British Grand Prix. At Silverstone the Spaniard exploded with joy for his first victory (to which was also added the first pole) in his career in Formula 1, while the Monegasque lost yet another opportunity to mend a large part of the gap that separates him in the standings from Max Verstappen, still remaining in third place behind Perez.
A potential recovery of 20 points (if we consider the possibility of the fastest lap) which ended with only six lengths recovered after being the victim not so much of an error – for the Cavallino wall and Mattia Binotto it was not such – but of a strategic decision which ended up clearly favoring Sainz in the pursuit of success.
However, it is necessary to analyze the race as a whole, not focusing only on the call to the pits during the last Safety Car caused by Ocon’s stop, to try to give an explanation to what is happening inside the Ferrari garage.
