Quincy Jones, the legendary producer and songwriter who worked, among many, with Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Ray Charles, has died at the age of 91, as confirmed by his publicist. Jones, born in Chicago in 1933, died Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.
«Tonight, with a full but broken heart, we must share the news of the passing of our father and brother Quincy Jones. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life he lived and we know that there will never be another like him,” his loved ones announced in a statement.
Among his best-known works are Jackson’s historic ‘Thriller’ and the recording of the 1985 charity album ‘We Are The World’. He was also the director of Frank Sinatra’s orchestra and a collaborator with jazz giants such as Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Gene Krupa, Miles Davis, Ray Charles and Dizzy Gillespie.
