“I must say that there is a possibility” of “solving the problems that need to be solved”, declared the head of Russian diplomacy Sergei Lavrov during a conversation with President Vladimir Putin broadcast on television, adding that the possibilities of dialogue “are not exhausted, but it can’t last indefinitely either.

Likewise, Lavrov stressed that Russia is ready to “listen to serious counterproposals”. These statements come a day before German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrives in Moscow to try to make progress in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
For its part, Ukraine demanded an urgent meeting with Russia and the countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)after accusing Moscow of not sharing information about its massive troop movements on the Ukrainian border, the subject of a serious crisis between the West and Moscow.

In a statement published on Sunday night, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmitro Kuleba, claimed that Russia had ignored a demand from Kiev regarding the Vienna Documentan OSCE text that promotes transparency measures among the armed forces of the organization’s 57 member countries.

“We go to the next stage. Ukraine convenes a meeting with Russia and all (OSCE) member states in 48 hours to talk about the escalation and movement of Russian troops along our border and in occupied Crimea,” Kuleba said.
Western countries accuse Russia of having deployed more than 100,000 soldiers on the Ukrainian border with the intention of invading the neighboring country, something that, according to the United States, would be imminent.
