O Russian President Vladimir Putincalled on the Ukrainian military to “take power” in Kiev, in place of the President Volodymyr Zelensky and ministers. In the Russian television broadcast, Putin told the army: “It looks like it will be easier to negotiate between you and me.”

He also said that he is not fighting army units, but “nationalist formations, which behave like terrorists, using civilians as human shields”. Putin referred to Zelensky and the Ukrainian ministers as “neo-Nazis” and “drug addicts”.

The Russian president used as a pretext for the invasion of Ukraine the need to “denazify” the neighboring country. On the other hand, Ukraine also compares Russia’s actions to what “Nazi Germany” did during World War II.
