Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov on Wednesday, December 1, commented on the increase in gas prices and heating tariffs in Ukraine.
“Ukraine has chosen its own destiny: just as there was no such independent state on the world map, it does not exist now, and it never will. But before at least the economy grew and the standard of living rose. But now all this is in the past. Now it is mainly the military budget that is growing, ”he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Thus, the senator reacted to the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to abandon influence on gas prices. Now pricing will take place exclusively under the influence of market conditions, writes the site “Ukraine.ru”.
On November 25, in the center of Kiev, a rally was held against the increase in tariffs for utilities. The posters of the audience read: “Zelensky, enough bullying!”, “Help, our children are hungry, because we paid for the communal apartment!”, “We will not pay!”
On November 23, a deputy from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Yegor Ustinov, said that rolling blackouts began in Ukraine, and as a result of interruptions, some of the infrastructure facilities began to use diesel generators. The parliamentarian is convinced that the current situation is connected with the inaction of the country’s authorities.
As the head of the Union of Consumers of Utilities of Ukraine Oleg Popenko noted on November 9, the difficult energy situation in the country will lead to a collapse of the economy. He assured that not a single Ukrainian enterprise can withstand the increase in tariffs, because the economy is based on cheap electricity.
On October 29, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Lyudmila Buimister, pointed out that a catastrophic situation is currently observed in the energy sector in Ukraine. This outcome was the result of a failure in the process of storing coal reserves and the lack of support from local mining enterprises, the deputy is convinced.
