We had to wait about 65 years for a mid-engine Corvette. That revolution, which we have been waiting for all our lives, is now immediately followed by another break with the past. A hybrid and electric Corvette Stingray are coming. Chevrolet announces that the hybrid version of the Corvette will arrive in 2023. After that, a fully electric version will follow.
Below you can already see a small teaser that Chevrolet shared on Twitter. There we see a camouflaged Corvette drifting in the snow. Not much information can be extracted from the video yet, but it looks like all four wheels are being driven.
Chevrolet keeps its lips tight for the time being. They indicate that we will hear more about this hybrid and electric Corvette Stingray at a later date. We don’t even know when the latter will make its appearance yet.
As good as the battery-powered Corvette gets, these new powertrains will no doubt upset purists. Can you see yourself driving an electrically powered Stingray?
BREAKING: An electrified #Corvette will be available as early as next year and a fully electric version to follow. Stay tuned for more. pic.twitter.com/6lDUWpOIZ2
