The central government and the Valencian Generalitat have agreed distribute the tasks of reconstruction of local and regional roads and other infrastructure affected by DANA in the province of Valencia. According to the distribution of tasks that was closed this Monday, the Valencian Executive will be in charge of the repair of 49 infrastructures in 18 municipalities and the central one, from 36 in another nineamong which are the towns hardest hit by the torrential rains three weeks ago, such as Paiporta, Alfalfar or Picanya. In four other municipalities such as Buñol, the works will be undertaken jointly.
The Minister of Transport, Oscar Puenteand the Minister of Infrastructure, Vicente Martínez, have closed the distribution of tasks for the reconstruction of roads and other infrastructure of autonomous, provincial and local ownership in the third telematic meeting that they have maintained since the tragedy occurred and that was preceded by the warning that the Ministry launched this morning, that I would contact the mayors directly whether the Consell continued to send him detailed information on where it was necessary to act and with what degree of priority after not having done so on the agreed date, last Friday.
The minister I have been waiting for a detailed response for fifteen days.beyond the mere “statement” of needs that he spoke about first thing in an interview on RNE, to the offer that he conveyed to Martínez in their first meeting, two Mondays ago, to put at his disposal nine teams ready to actcoming from other works of an ordinary nature or from reconstruction works after DANA that have already been completed in state-owned roads or railways.
The warning, however, did not have to become reality because at this Monday’s meeting the counselor has provided more information, so that it has been possible to distribute where each administration will act. As reported by the Ministry later, now will summon the town councils “immediately” for the planning and execution of the works.
As agreed, the Ministry will be responsible for repairing 36 infrastructures in the towns of AldaiaAlfafar, AlmussafesManises, Paiporta, Pincanya, Real, Riba-red and Xirivella.
For its part, the Generalitat will act in almost fifty infrastructures in Alcàsser, Bugarra, Streets, Cheste, Chera, Chiva, Gestalgar, Godetella, Loriguilla, Macastre, Montserrat, Pedralba, Picassent, Requena, Siete Aguas, Sinarcas, Sot de Chera and Torrent.
For its part, part of the works planned in Algemesí, Beniparrell, Buñol and Catarroja They will be undertaken by the central Government and another, by the Valencian Generalitat.
As reported by Transport, the distribution criterion has been the bonding of the different infrastructures, whether with the State or regional road network.
