“I was in a secluded porch in front of a police barrier. When they advanced, I followed them at a safe and prudent distance. At that moment he was alone, since the rest of the journalists were on the other side of the police line, but they were able to see and record him,” says Fermín Grodira.
“Shortly before, another police group in a similar situation told me to move. One officer sent me in one direction and another came who wanted to go the other and grabbed me by the helmet, shook my head and pushed forward, to the line. of agents advancing down the street, until I was able to leave,” adds the collaborator of Public.
Fermín Grodira assures that he has also seen other journalists “with identifiable signs of having been beaten with batons and pushed by agents”. These situations, according to him, not only took place “in moments of tension, such as during police charges, but also when the situation was calmer and we followed the police groups from a distance and complied with their orders to move when they shouted so.”
