As was to be expected with the transition to the free-to-play formula many have decided to give it a chance PUBG: Battlegrouds, with the number of contemporary players on Steam which has increased a lot in the last few days.
For the uninitiated, on Wednesday 12 January, PUBG Battlegrouds has become a free-to-play game, meaning anyone can play it for free, with the only limitation relating to ranked games, which can be accessed by purchasing an upgrade for the price of 12. , 99 euros.
Clearly the goal of this change was to attract new players and we can say that for the moment it has been achieved. According to the information reported on SteamDB, in the last 24 hours the battle royale has reached a maximum peak of 691,794 players, numbers similar to those recorded in the days immediately following the transition to the free-to-play formula.
This is a substantial increase given that the game over the past few months struggled to reach the 400,000 user ceiling contemporaries. Obviously, not having the numbers registered on PlayStation and Xbox consoles at hand, it is impossible to have a complete picture of the situation. Furthermore, it will be necessary to see if the game will be able to keep up with these numbers over the next few weeks.
Of course we are far from the maximum peak of 3,257,248 contemporary users recorded on Steam in 2017, but we are talking about four years ago, a period in which the battle royale were the novelty of the moment and there were still no Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty : Warzone.
Have you taken advantage of the fact that PUBG: Battlegrounds is free-to-player to experience Krafton’s battle royale?
