PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, better known as PUBG, was one of the first titles to establish the battle royale genre. Its influence is still present to this day in many other games of the genre, but according to its authors, free fire were not inspired by various elements of PUBG, but directly plagiarized them and have decided to sue Garena thus.
According to information from TechCrunch, Krafton Inc., developers of PUBGhave filed a lawsuit against Garena, authors of freefire, for directly plagiarizing several of the elements present in his battle royale. According Garena, this demand “has no basis whatsoever”, but krafton insists that free fire should be removed from App Store and Google Play Store due to this copyright infringement.
krafton argues that free fire was previously known as Free Fire: Battlegrounds, and from there it should not have been allowed to be downloaded on digital platforms. This lawsuit also goes against Free Fire MAX, which is basically an improved version of the original title that came to App Store and Google Play last year. At the moment the case is still in a preliminary stage, and we will have to wait to see how all this is resolved.
And speaking of PUBG, since it became a free-to-play experience, its number of players has increased considerably. How much? We tell you in the following link.
