KeplerL2considered a rather reliable leaker in the hardware field, having anticipated several correct information in the past and also something regarding PS5 Pro before its official presentation, has also launched into a prediction regarding PS6which according to his information is expected to be released in two different models.
There aren’t many details yet, but it looks like two different SoCs are in development for the PlayStation 6, namely two System on Chipthe main components that condense the CPU and GPU and which, if they are different, could indicate the existence of two rather different consoles.
Kepler cannot say, at the moment, what situation Sony is aiming for with these two different chips, but the idea is that these are two parallel proposals to be launched on the market, probably at different prices.
A home console and a portable one?
This could pave the way for two home consoles with different features, similar to what we saw with the Xbox Series X and Series S, or two more profoundly different machines, which could be a standard home console and a portable oneor a hybrid car.
These are the possibilities illustrated by the leaker, although they should be taken as speculation for now.
In fact, even with regards to Xbox Microsoft has long been rumored to be planning to launch two separate machines, with a traditional home console and a portable one representing two distinct propositions for the next-gen Xbox.
Given the success of Portal and other platforms like Steam Deck, not to mention the Nintendo Switch itself, the idea that Sony could also consider a portable console is not to be ruled out, despite its self-elimination from the handheld market with the closure of the PlayStation Vita.
