What will they be specifications that the certified games For PS5 Pro will they have to comply? According to a report from The Verge, Sony is not only aiming for 60 fps, but also for certain values in terms of resolution and use of ray tracing.
You will remember that some rumors have already addressed the topic days ago, talking about 4K upscaled and 60 fps as minimum criteria in order to obtain the label enhanced for PlayStation 5 Probut apparently there will be different possible scenarios.
According to The Verge's sources, in fact, it will be possible obtain certification even where titles run at 30 fps in the presence of a significant increase in resolution compared to the original edition or the introduction of ray tracing effects absent on the standard PS5.
On the other hand, games that continue to use a dynamic resolution even on PS5 Pro will not receive certification, even if the absolute values will be better. In general, Sony's approach seems very similar to the one used in the PS4 Pro days.
Boost Mode?
Compared to the aforementioned rumors from March, The Verge's report reveals the presence of one ultra-boost mode on PS5 Pro which will automatically improve games that are not officially supported, although without fully exploiting the possibilities offered by the new console.
Exactly as happened in previous boost cases, however, all of this it will only be possible for those titles that employ dynamic and variable solutions in resolution and/or frame rate, and which with greater hardware power will naturally go beyond the previous limits.
