Protocols activated after capture of CJNG leader

Guadalajara Jalisco.- Behind the capture of César Augusto “N”, alias “El Gafe”regional leader of Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the authorities of the three levels of government in Jalisco activated a series of protocols to reinforce security and prevent reactions.

“El Gafe” is also implicated in the shooting at Puerta de Hierro and Patria Boulevards, in Zapopan, on October 2, which left one dead.

Although he avoided going into details because they dealt with internal aspects in the actions of corporations, the Strategic Coordinator of State Security, Ricardo Sánchez Beruben, exposed this Thursday that the activation of protocols has given results.

“We generated, together with the Metropolitan Security Council, an action protocol, which is attached to a flow chart depending on the situation, depending on whether it is an ordinary activation by the armed forces.

“It implies some adjustments, it implies some operational adjustments, and some additional supervision issues, it is an issue that we handle with great secrecy, but yes, (it implies) a reinforcement,” said Sánchez Beruben.

This Thursday morning, the Undersecretary of Security, Ricardo Mejía Berdeja, confirmed that Sedena captured “El Gafe”, allegedly in charge of criminal actions by the CJNG in El Salto and Tlajomulco.

The undersecretary said that, in addition to the events that caused panic in a shopping center in Zapopan, “El Gafe” is allegedly involved in the confrontation with the military in Ixtlahuacán del Río on August 9, the day there were also drug blockades.

“He coordinates drug retail cells, assassins and hawks and the recruitment of new members of operating cells in different states,” said Mejía Berdeja about the actions he allegedly carried out for the CJNG “El Gafe”.

Despite these specific indications, in Jalisco they have not yet confirmed that César Augusto is under investigation by the local Prosecutor’s Office.
