To each generation we have one responsibility with our time. Those of the colonial period and during Independence had to forge a national identity. To those of the Reform, consolidate the Republic. The revolutionaries of 1917 defended a country hungry for social justice. The post-revolutionaries got off the horse and built institutions. Our parents and grandparents respected plurality based on the votes and there arose alternation. To us, the present generationit’s our turn defend freedom. Not one step back in the conquest of our freedoms!
A generation It’s not a question of age. Nor is it related to gender, much less to an ideology. A generation is identified by its attitude. The defense of freedom claim from us fight the lie and return the strength of hope to the truth. Hope has already changed hands!
Am Juan Alfonso Mejía, Professor and social activist in favor of education. Mazatleco and father of two daughters. I am here for them, for myself and because I share a cause with you: the urgency of returning the value of facts to words. Lies as a form of government Had done to us a lot of damageas much or more, as the hate fueled from “the morning” in the National Palace. Let’s build a new Cultural Victory, in which Sinaloa reconciles with politics once and for all.
The election next June 2 is not just any election. That day we are risking the next 30 years of our history. It is not a choice about continuity or return to the past, as argued BRUNETTE; Nor is it a verdict between the new or the old politics, as the Citizen Movement would have us believe. It’s a choice about our futureWhat country do we want for ourselves and our loved ones?
There are only two paths to choose. Vote for the return to authoritarianism through the concentration of power or vote for the defense of democracy and our healthy differences. It is up to us to make it clear. Authoritarianism is possible thanks to the concentration of power, which encourages contempt for people and the worship and idolatry of “a single person.” “If you give them more power, they won’t turn around to see you!”
That’s what Plan “C” is about, achieving absolute power. End the INEfirst and Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) and the autonomous bodies, after. My grandmother said well: “to politicians, neither all the power nor all the money.” Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
This June 2, let’s go out and vote for us and for ours. Not for a political party or even for a candidate. By ourselves.
I address women and grandmothers, vote so that no one ignores your desire and need for work, and that daycare centers and childcare centers are returned to you. Mothers and fathers, teachers, vote to recover the opportunities that were stolen from them by taking away the best educational program of the last 15 years, Full-Time Schools. To the fishermen, the packers, the producers, the farmers and the small merchants, vote so that no one else ever tramples on your dignity by abandoning you to your fate before the presidential whims. To the elderly, vote and do not allow anyone to scare you “with the dead man’s backpack”, MORENA is leaving and the social programs are staying.
Young people, make politicians uncomfortable. Question them. Claim the truth, don’t be treated like children. We are going for a policy focused on their talent. Stay away from conformism. It is not marketing or a song that allows them to use their vote in a useful way. Don’t waste it!
The coin is in the air. The more people go out to vote, the more chances we have of winning. This June 2 let’s go out to meet each other. Of those who do not believe. Of those who do not know us. The one who doubts. Which one day he believed and we let him down. Let’s go out to meet! Only in this way will we overcome the fear and hatred promoted by the official party. The polarization in the streets is real, as is our determination to live in a peaceful Sinaloa.
The defense of democracy requires putting the word at the service of a great political cause.
Let’s go out and win at the polls with the truth. That is the cultural victory of our time. The challenge of our generation.
So be it.
