The development studio Bliss Brain has delayed the PS4 and PS5 versions of Princess Maker 2 Regeneration because of some censorship requests made by Sony, to adapt the game to its ethical standards. So it will no longer be released on July 11, 2024 as previously communicated, but on August 8, 2024. Almost a month late.
On the other hand the Nintendo Switch and PC versions will be released uncensored and when initially planned. So it will be possible to play it starting from July 11th. It should be noted that in Japan the PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions also have physical editions.
More complaints from Sony
Bliss Brain spoke about the forced changes in a statement, in which it illustrated the requests made by Sony to allow the game to be sold on its consoles.
“The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Princess Maker 2 Regeneration will undergo specific changes, to comply with the required ethical standards.” He explained the study, then went into more detail: “These changes include the removal of objects that increase the size of the daughter’s breasts and the removal of the endings “Marriage to Father” and “Marriage to Butler.” Due to these changes, the release date of the PS4 and PS5 versions has been moved to August 8th. Bliss Brain apologizes for any problems this decision may cause.”
Naturally, the blame for the censorship does not lie with the development studio, which must submit to Sony’s impositions if it wants to publish its game. If he didn’t, he would risk losing his entire investment, so he doesn’t have much choice. Moreover, this is not the first time that a game arrives on PlayStation consoles censored, due to Sony’s ethical standards. Just recently the Stellar Blade case has caused a lot of discussion, after protests from users.
