We’ve been talking about it for years now and it has disappeared from the radar several times, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still alive and in developmentUbisoft confirmed in these hours, reporting that another team has joined the development of the game.
Based on what was reported in the post on X published by the official account of Ubisoft Torontothe team in question was applied to the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, together with other members of the company who were already working on the title in question.
This is a small update on the situation of the game, but significant as it confirms that work is continuing, despite there not being much information about it in the past months.
Ubisoft Toronto joins the ongoing work on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
“Ubisoft Toronto joins the development of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” reads the post on X published by the publisher.
“We are thrilled to be able to turn back the clock and bring our studio’s creativity, experience and updated technology to this beloved classic with our partners at Ubisoft Montreal.”
Considering that, previously, the Montreal division had urgently taken over the development, one might think that the situation of the game was not the most rosy until some time ago, thus forcing two important sections of Ubisoft such as Montreal and Toronto to collaborate to get the project back on track.
Initially, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake had been entrusted to the publisher’s Indian teams, Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, but evidently plans have changed. Some time ago, an insider had reported that the development had started from scratch, and something like this could actually have happened in recent years, considering that the announcement of the game dates back to four years ago.
