Mexico City.- The national leader of the PRI, Alejandro “Alito” Moreno Cárdenas, accused that threats against opposition legislators for voting in favor of judicial reform have escalated and now come from organized crime.
“Here, cannon shots are the order of the day, pressure is the order of the day, the prosecutors. Attacking family members, putting pressure on. And also saying it, messages from many people who have received them from people close to organized crime,” accused the tricolor president during a meeting with senators at the PRI’s CEN.
“We have to take care of the legislators, that’s why we said it, any inconvenience that happens with a PRI legislator, we hold the Government of the Republic responsible,” he added. Likewise, “Alito” Moreno confirmed that the 43 Opposition legislators are ready to stop “that madness” of judicial reform.
This, after, with a majority of votes from Morena and allies, the Joint Committees on Constitutional Points and Legislative Studies of the Senate approved without changes, in general and in particular, the opinion of reform to the Judicial Branch.
