In an interview published by the Bild newspaper, Polish President Andrezej Duda harshly criticized the talks between his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz with Vladimir Putin.

In the context of the conflict in Ukraine, the Polish president assured that these talks only legitimized an illegal war undertaken before an independent and sovereign state.

Did someone say that Adolf Hitler should keep up appearances? That we should proceed in such a way that it is not humiliating for Adolf Hitler?
Likewise, Duda made a comparison between Putin and Adolf Hitler, questioning: “Did anyone talk like that with Adolf Hitler during world war II? I have not heard such voices.”
Although the calls between leaders were to seek the release of prisoners of war, and in the case of Macron to stop the conflict on several occasions, this was frowned upon by members of the EU.
In the same line of comparison between Putin and Hitler, Volodomir Zelenski, president of Ukraine, asserted that the request of some members of the Western bloc to cede territory was to “appease” Russia as was done with Nazi Germany in 1938, before the start of the Second World War.
It is not the first time that Duda has made the German comparison with his Russian counterpart, recalling that months ago he assured that the “Russian special operation” bears great similarities to how German troops invaded and attacked the Polish population in the 20th century.
