The 2024 Preliminary Electoral Results Program of Tabascoreleased through the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute of Tabasco, has announced which candidate would be the virtual governor of the state of Tabasco.
When 99.5 percent of the electoral records (3,102 of 3,117) from the June 2 election have been counted, The candidate Javier May Rodríguez, of the Green Ecologist Party, Labor Party and National Regeneration Movement (Morena), obtained 80 percent of the votes, making him the virtual winner of the election.
The next step is to wait for the official appointment by the electoral authorities, which would be for Javier May, who would be sworn in as the new governor of the state on October 1, 2024 for a period of six years that will end on September 30, 2030.
“This historic triumph belongs to the entire people of Tabasco, the same people who welcomed us with joy and with open arms on every walk, at every event and at every meeting. Thank you for believing in a better Tabasco for everyone!” shared the virtual governor of the state on his official X account (@maytabasco).
The other candidates:
Juan Manuel Focil: 65.9 percent of the votes
María Inés de la Fuete: 5.3 percent of the votes
Lorena Beaurregard: 4.2 percent of the votes.
2.9 percent of the votes were annulled
