Martin-Aprilia, the next day
That Pramac would lose Jorge Martin at the end of the 2024 World Championship it was well known, and the Spanish rider himself had put the abandonment of Paolo Campinoti’s team (and the move to the official Ducati team) as the only condition for continuing the relationship with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. That the solution to the puzzle could happen on the day of the Mugello tests, and that this acceleration would not have come from their moves, was probably not even thought of by Ducati.
“All in one night“, said Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivolacommenting on Martin’s arrival in Noale for 2025: a blitz that surprised Ducati itself in terms of manner and timing (Davide Tardozzi, a few minutes before the transfer coup became official, spoke of “decision before Assen“), while the Pramac team was in fact an external spectator.
Campinoti’s words
TO Campinoti yesterday’s announcement changes nothing (he knew he would have to lose Martin and not be able to catch up with Marc Marquez), and so the Tuscan manager greeted the #89 cordially: “We welcomed a talented rookie into our team and today we work with one of the strongest riders on the MotoGP grid. The progress we have made together is incredible and we remain focused on the goal we set ourselves at the end of last year. After the Valencia GP, we will say goodbye to Martín, wishing him the best for his future”, this is the comment of the Pramac owner.
Borsoi’s words
“I am grateful and proud to work with Jorge: one of the strongest and most talented riders I have ever known,” added Gino Borsoi, Pramac Team Manager. “From now on we will continue to give our all to achieve the best together while remaining focused on this season, which has started in a wonderful way. I hope that Jorge, after deciding his future, can enjoy the rest of the season with us”.
