PP and Vox have attacked the PSOE for delaying until after midnight the final vote of the Congressional Finance Commission to negotiate the tax reform with its partners in the face of previous defeats in the partial votes on amendments.
The PP spokesperson, Miguel Tellado, has denounced that the Government “has kidnapped the Finance Commission in Congress.” In his message on
“It is 00:35. The president of the Commission is missing and the deputies, Chamber workers and journalists are waiting for them to deign to appear,” criticized the parliamentary spokesperson, who has also questioned the Government’s attitude. “How far do they plan to go with their indignity? Enough is enough“, he has settled.
In this regard, the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has called the situation in the Lower House “unheard of.” “Hijacking a congressional committee and keeping it locked until dawn to try not to lose more votes is just the latest cacicada of a PSOE without limits or support,” he wrote on social networks. “Every day they are weaker, but every day they are more dangerous,” he warned.
In this sense, the deputy and spokesperson for Economy of the PP in Congress, Jaime de Olano, has asked the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, that the ILabor inspection sanctions the PSOE parliamentary group “for violation of workers’ rights: Chamber services, police, journalists.”
Congress, “submitted” to Sánchez
Vox spokesperson in Congress, Pepa Millán, also denounced this Monday night the “kidnapping” which in his opinion has been carried out by the PSOE in the Finance Commission of the Lower House.
“At this time the PSOE has kidnapped the deputies in the Finance Commission until it gets the support to move forward. your tax increases“, Pepa Millán expressed in a message on X.
According to the Vox leader, institutions like Congress are subject “to Sánchez’s interest in sleeping one more day in Moncloa”.
In this context, the PNV spokesperson, Aitor Esteban, has also reproached the socialists for the fact that the Commission in which the future State prosecutor is being decided “stand still”. “It is another example of the short game of some and the disorder of this legislature,” he wrote on social networks.
The Congressional Finance Commission has chosen to delay the final vote on the law to establish a tax until after midnight 15% global minimum to multinational companies, initially postponing it until eleven o’clock this Monday night. And the PSOE, in the partial votes on amendments, had already suffered several defeats and the result of the global vote was uncertain due to lack of support.
Subsequently, the Government has agreed with ERC, EH Bildu and BNG to extend the tax on energy companies for another year to save the bill that includes a new global minimum tax of 15% for multinational companies.
The Executive’s promise, which now has to materialize, occurred late this Monday due to the possibility of the decline of the multinational tax bill, which was born as a European Directive required by Brussels and on which it depends a disbursement of 11,000 million euros of European funds.
The Government has kidnapped the Finance Commission in Congress.
At 8:30 p.m. they called for the first break, an hour later the second, until 11:00 p.m.
