The acting governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug invited Komarova to represent Ugra in the Federation Council
The acting governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO), Ruslan Kukharuk, invited the former head of the region, Natalya Komarova, to represent Ugra in the Federation Council. Reported this on the Telegram channel press service of the regional government.
Kuharuk noted Komarova’s experience and also asked her to be a mentor and “continuator of all those projects” that were launched under her.
On May 30, Komarova announced her resignation. She has led the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug since 2010 and was the only woman in Russia to serve as governor. Komarova explained her departure by moving to a new place of work, but did not disclose details.
