The whole world has now accepted the Nerd Cultureand so why can’t Valle Camonica also look out onto this world? 16/17/18 August the GDR Guildin collaboration with the Pro Loco of Ponte di Legno and other local associations, will in fact organize the first edition of the Pontedilegno Fantasy Comics & Gamesor better, the Zero Edition of this festival, which will serve to promote this culture centered around comics, games and fantasy in the valley.
This year, even the charming and famous ski resort, a destination for thousands of tourists from all over Lombardy (and beyond), has decided to focus on the emerging world of fandom, but doing so in an orderly, old-fashioned way: It won’t be one of those many fairs where a crowd of disoriented fans is put in front of dozens of retailerswith the sole aim of generating revenue, but an informative edition, managed by enthusiasts: in fact, themed events will be scheduled on three different days with the aim of involving and educating visitors on board games (with Camunia Ludic), manga & anime ((Druid Speak)role-playing games (with tables dedicated to D&D), TCG, Cosplay (with the group AIFA Cosplay) and much more. A fair suitable therefore, for this first edition, for all those who still want to find a little humanity in this type of event, with “experts” who will dedicate their time to educate, tell, narrate and make their magical and exciting world understood even by “noobs”, that is to those who are trying to approach these environments for the first time.
Me too (Druidspeak) I will be attending this event with a series of talks scheduled for the second day (August 17) and dedicated to the world of manga, in which I will certainly introduce some of the volumes that I have read (or reviewed right here on Akiba Gamers), but where will I find the time to talk about Japanese culture in general, with various connections to the more well-known animated panorama. Three interventions will accompany those present starting from some examples and considerations on the titles that accompanied our childhood (Fist of the North Star, Dragonball, Sailor Moonjust to name a few), through the difficulties of approaching this world (with useful advice for starting to read), up to entering into the opportunities of the current boom, which however can also confuse new enthusiasts, between republished titles and offers that are too vast. All this will be combined with the possibility of browsing the most famous titles live, thanks to the volumes made available by the cooperative The Lectern.
If you are approaching this world of passion and fun for the first timecome to Ponte di Legno on August 16/17/18, not only because you can get advice on what to read or what anime to watch, but in general because you can find an environment that will welcome you with the same atmosphere as the first fairs, where everything was a little more convivial. We look forward to seeing you, with the hope that this will become an event for the future too.
