PODCAST | From Rajoy’s cousin to Valencia’s DANA

On the Spanish right, the scientific consensus around climate change has never had much impact. They took a liking to the joke and since then they have waged an alleged cultural war against what they call climate activism. For this reason, it is difficult to distinguish the statements of someone from the PP or someone from Vox about global warming. The problem is that these speeches have consequences. They imply decision-making consistent with that discourse when the PP and Vox coalitions take over regional and local governments. This is what has happened in the Valencian Community and it is what has been evidenced with the DANA.

We review these statements until we reach Valencia, where we listen to Juan Bordera, who is a journalist, climate change activist, now a Compromís deputy, and what he has been saying for some time about climate change sounds like a prophecy.
