Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, see Plug Plug on stage it was an event that only occurred very few times a year —as a result of the fact that its vocalist began to live abroad—, so his recitals became a kind of “rituals” for his followers. Now, after about two years since their last concert, the national band returns to the Lima stages this Sunday, December 26 and Monday, December 27.
These shows also mark the return of the original Plug Plug line-up: the vocalist and guitarist. Heron Morphosis (Metamorphosis, Selenite Radiation, Los Huaycos, etc.), the bassist Kamilo riveros (El Aire, Pura Mer-k) and the drummer Sandro Labenita (Tourista, Histeria Kolectiva), who rejoins the eclectic group after 4 years.
In conversation with The Republic, the power trio assures that this meeting takes place organically after the impossibility of Antonio Olivera, a percussionist who currently resides in the United States and who “is not going to return (to the country) easily”. “Then, It was becoming a bit natural that we will play with Sandro if Garzo was here, while in a pandemic, we had strengthened ties with Sandro ”, Kamilo stated.

Their first rehearsal for the only two shows Plug Plug will be participating in in 2021 was just under two weeks ago and the musicians say the connection as a band has not been lost despite time. “(The songs) have come out as they were and as they are”, asserts the vocalist, while the person in charge of the bass lines points out that “they have even come out better.”
“What I like the most is that the fun has not been lost, which is what I missed the most about playing with these two jerks,” said the current drummer of the pop group Tourista.
