PlayStation Plus could discount up to 50% the upgrade to Extra and Premium

According to what a user shared PS Plus Japanese, the renewed Sony service could discount up to 50% the upgrade to the levels Extra And Premium.

The information that emerged is in Japanese but, according to what was reported on ResetEra and seeing the figures appeared in some images, a user would have received a 50% discount when he tried to upgrade to the higher levels of the subscription.

The user, who had a subscription valid for the next 5 years or so, would have had to pay 26,332 Yen (almost 187 Euros) to access the Premium tier, but the system required the player 12,750 Yen, or about 90 Euros. This is a huge discount and the situation looks the same for the Extra tier as well.

Another user, a subscriber for the next 12 years, also viewed a maximum price of 12,750 Yen.

On ResetEra, you can see images showing messages between a player and Sony support. According to what emerged, it seems that Sony has opted for a discount when it comes to upgrades to higher levels, although nothing has been officially announced.

At the moment, we cannot confirm discounts of up to 50% for upgrades to Extra and Premium levels and, probably, this “offer” will only be valid for users with many active subscription years. Furthermore, it is possible that there will be no discounts for users from other regions such as Europe.
