PlaydatePanic's unique hand-cranked portable console, has reached and surpassed the milestone of 150,000 games sold through the proprietary store, the Playdate Catalog, for a total of $544,290.12 in net revenue for developers, after taxes and 25% royalties. These numbers are clearly not indicative of Playdate's entire library, as they don't take into account the 800+ games available through the itch.io platform.
The data was shared by the parent company together with an infographic with some interesting numbers to celebrate the second anniversary of the launch of the console. For example, we learn that they have been published in the official store catalogue 181 games sold at an average price of $5.36. Most purchases come from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Japan.
