Mexico City.– The discussion forums on the reform of the Judiciary (PJ) would begin in the coming days, tentatively next week, assured the Morenoist senator, Ricardo Monreal.
Interviewed outside Claudia Sheinbaum’s transition house, the member of the virtual next president’s team trusted that the dialogues will shed “lights” on the reform.
He anticipated that, between June and August, the forums would preferably be held in Congress, although there would also be dialogues in federal entities.
He announced that judges, magistrates, ministers, judicial workers, lawyers, bar associations and law schools, among others, may participate in the “consultation.”
“(At the meeting) he ratified his commitment that he made yesterday (Monday): that there would be dialogue, that those who were interested in the reforms, particularly the judicial reforms, would be heard in thematic forums,” he said.
-With this dialogue, would there really be time for this judicial reform to come out in September? the Morenista was asked.
“We hope so, because they start immediately, really starting yesterday they are being programmed and organized, and I believe that they are the entire month of June, July, the entire month of August in which we can listen,” he expressed.
“Hold forums not only in the city, but even in the federal entities to listen to the greatest number of interested people as possible, then there is good spirit, there is an attitude of openness and a lot of sensitivity on the part of the virtual president.”
-When do they start?, he was questioned.
“I think that already… next week. They could be in Congress, but where everyone participates, it is as natural as it is in Congress because that is where the decision finally rests,” he commented.
-Will they seek agreements with the opposition?
“We are always going to listen, that is the idea. We are going to listen to them. It is a moment of political definitions in the country,” he noted.
